DIY face mask

Keep safe with your own customisable face masks, which are easy to make, and won’t cost you much. Choose fabrics that are tightly woven but breathable, for the inside layer I chose soft felt/ fleece like fabric so it would be comfortable to wear.

You need:

  • scissors

  • one sewing machine

  • fabric (10”x6”)

  • 2 hair bobbles (thin) or thin elastic

Step 1

Stack the fabrics together and fold over the longest edge twice, pin, and sew. Try and fold as little as possible. Then repeats with the other longest side.

Step 2

Fold the short side over once, and sew. Cut the hair bobble and place it along the short side. Fold the fabric over it and sew down the side, creating a pocket for the elastic. repeat on other side.

Step 3

tie the elastic and slide the knot into the pocket so it doesn’t show. Wear your mask!

This six fitted me perfectly, and I have about and average size head. To make it large, add 2 or 3 cm onto the fabric.
